El propósito de la V feria del Libro de Nueva York, que se realizará en el Museo de Arte de Queens, en Flushing Meadows Corona Park, el domingo 10 Octubre es resaltar los idiomas y acercar la literatura, los autores y los libros a la comunidad.

 La participación de por lo menos 100 autores y de 10 editoriales independientes, revelan el interés creciente por este evento cultural anual y fortalece el espíritu  que hace de Nueva York una ciudad especialmente multicultural y distinta.

La feria se llevará a cabo el 10 de Octubre con actividades satélites los días previos al gran evento. La programación cubre encuentros con autores en otros condados de Nueva York y estará animada con presentaciones musicales con grupos folklóricos.

La organización rinde homenaje al gran fotógrafo y colaborador emérito Nereo Lopez Meza patrocinando `Encuentro con Nereo' en donde estará firmando su recién publicado libro; Nereo: Imágenes de Medio Siglo

La diversidad de idiomas está respaldada con la presencia de autores de Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, España, Grand Caimán, Grecia, India, Israel, México, Panamá, Puerto Rico, República Dominicana. De Estados Unidos llegan autores procedentes de Alburquerque, Nuevo Mexico, Boston, Connecticut, Florida, Nueva Jersey, Pensilvania y Washington.
